Tree across the trail
Trees across the trail
This was a real mess
Above my head
Had to go around this big boy.
Another tree and a mess on the trail,
6-12-2018, this snow was gone 6 days later, the mess will be there a while.
But the trilliums!
Columbia Lewista along the trail
Glacier Lilies
Mature trillium
As the trillium ages it takes on a purple hue.

American Dipper
Ameican Dipper
The little bugger was really chirping at me, so I (finally) figured out I may be by her nest and moved away.
Stream crossing
Tough stream crossing, about 12-16" deep in places. Hopping from the small rock to the wood pile did not look safely doable with my pack and camera, so I waded across.
Stream crossing, looking back
Hopping it this way, on the return was easy as I was able to test out the wood pile and the small exposed rock was dry.
Wet trail
Hibox
The trail is in a stream bed.
This was not the wettest section!
Deep snow at the top of the trail
Looking down the trail from the crest, just before the lake.
Rachel Lake
Rachel Lake looking south
Snow on the edges
Only bare patch found
After cresting the trail, a small bare patch near the water was about it.
Small bare patch near the lake edge
Tent site under 3' plus
Deeper than it looks
Lake is mostly ice-free
Rampart ridge still has a heavy coat of snow
Cooling mist off bee hive falls
The trail down is just to the right of the logs
Beautiful waterfall below behive falls
Deep, but the rocks are hoppable
