A river runs through it. Clouds and showers today.
Wow! the walls are really high.
Along the Riverwalk. This reminded me of a zoo exhibit as it was so well layed out.
Along the Riverwalk.
Near "The Narrows"
Zion National Park
Cliff side in Zion
Had to actually de-saturate the greenery in many of these shots.
Where "The Narrows" starts; a hike in the river into a slot canyon.
The river flow today is in excess of 350 CFS, nearly double the maximum allowed for the river to open to travelers.
Near the end of the Riverwalk, where the Narrows starts.
The river was running at more than twice the flow of acceptable levels for the Narrows to open .
Columbine growing in the canyon wall along the walk
Jeffery shoting stars
Shooting stars growing in a crack in the canyon wall along the Riverwalk.
The camera is not turned, the flowers are growing out parallel to the ground.
More Jeffery shooting stars growing in a small crack.
Even more amazing is no one had picked them!
Near the trail head, looking above the path.
Moon over Zion
Grabb it while you can...was too tired to wonder around and find a clear spot, so I took this near my tent. The next night was pouring down rain, so a retake was out, oops
Making dinner, noticed the sun had peeked through the clouds to splash just the top of the wall. This was only 50' from my tent.
Another view of a wild sky near my camp site
Zion NP
Continuing up the West Rim trail, looking north into the dead end of this thin valley the trail is in.
View from the end of the West Rim trail, near the start of the Angels Landing trail
Among the mess, some just sit and watch the struggles to go up or down the Angels Landing trail.
I watched for long enough to know it was not worth it. I try again another day.
Looking north up the valley. Still amazed trees can grow in rock cracks....
On the valley floor, a shuttle moves along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive
Looking west towards Mt. Majestic.
Looking south down the canyon and the start of Angels Landing trail
Looking northeast into the valley, the Big Bend starts to the right bottom
There are no barriers here!
Looking due north up river
To the right, people on the top of Angels Landing
Looking southwest from the to of the West Rim Trail
Decending the West Rim Trail
Another view of the valley, from a ledge above the trail
On a spur of the West Rim Trail along the valley floor, near the Virgin River
View south down the valley and the Virgin River with the West Rim Trail below
Still in raingear, and Red Solo Cup in hand, the mist blows against the valley wall after some active weather passed through.
After the rain.
Misty Sky
Another day, cloudy, make the most of it in Wildcat Canyon and Northgate Peaks trail
